Thomas Frank and Patrick Vieira react as Brentford score a late equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has suggested that he was content with his side's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.

Having failed to defeat either of Fulham and Everton, the Bees were under a little bit of pressure to return to winning ways in the London derby at Selhurst Park.

Although Brentford generally had the better of proceedings, Palace went ahead in the second half courtesy of a thunderous effort from Wilfried Zaha.

However, the visitors pushed for a leveller during the final quarter of the contest and deservedly claimed a point through Yoane Wissa's late equaliser.

Despite only earning a share of the spoils, Frank was in good spirits, praising the show of character from his team as well as Zaha's spectacular opener.

Speaking to Match Of The Day, Frank said: "I think it was a brilliant game of football, in many ways. I think we edged it in the first half without being really dominant. Zaha then scored an unbelievable goal. What a goal - it's touch, move, boom!

"A point away in the Premier League is so hard to get in every game, but then we had those two big chances. If you look at the game, I'm very pleased with many things. We have that never-say-die attitude, that's the fourth time now that we've come back. We'll take the point, but I'd have rather had three."

While Palace lead the game until the closing minutes, Patrick Vieira has insisted that he was relieved to pick up a draw after not being left impressed by his team's performance.

Speaking to BT Sport, Vieira said: "It wasn't really pretty from our side. We nearly lost the game at the end, so I'm happy with the point. Maybe they deserve it a bit more than us today.

"Today was about trying to win the game and play well, and we didn't do it. We lost a lot of energy against City and it was difficult physically. At the end of the game we looked tired with a lack of energy. It became really difficult for us.

"I think we had a tough pre-season. That's never going to change from us. There are a lot of details we need to improve if we want to win football matches."

Brentford now sit in ninth position in the Premier League standings, while Palace are one point and four places adrift in 13th spot. body check tags ::
