Former Newcastle United winger Yasin Ben El-Mhanni has reportedly been given a trial by Brentford.
The 22-year-old is a free agent, having been released by the Premier League outfit in controversial circumstances at the end of last season.
According to Goal.com, El-Mhanni lined up for the Bees in a friendly win over Bournemouth on Tuesday and is hoping to impress for the Championship outfit as he looks to earn a contract.
EFL clubs have until Friday to sign unattached players and, with El-Mhanni having grown up close to Griffin Park, he reportedly remains hopeful of securing a move closer to his boyhood home.
An independent panel at Newcastle found that El-Mhanni was "unfairly treated" after the player made an official complaint against Newcastle Under-23 coach Peter Beardsley over bullying and discrimination in January.
