PSV Eindhoven midfielder Johan Bakayoko has reportedly turned down the chance to join Brentford.
The Bees identified Bakayoko as a potential target after failing in their attempts to sign Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson and Fiorentina winger Nicolas Gonzalez.
A recent report claimed that Brentford were close to agreeing a deal with PSV after submitting a club-record €40m (£34.2m) bid for the Belgium international.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Bakayoko has informed Brentford that he will not complete a move to the Premier League club.
The 20-year-old is keen to remain with the Dutch club in order to play in the Champions League after PSV beat Rangers and Sturm Graz in qualifying to book their place in the group stage.
Peter Bosz's side have been drawn in a group alongside Premier League runners-up Arsenal, Europa League winners Sevilla and Ligue 1 runners-up Lens.
Bakayoko, who is under contract until the summer of 2026, has made 44 appearances for PSV, registering seven goals and nine assists. body check tags ::
