Aston Villa will not continue their pursuit of Brentford winger Said Benrahma, according to a report.
Villans boss Dean Smith had been keen to be reunited with the attacker, having worked with him at Griffin Park, but Villa's £14m bid has been rejected by the Bees.
According to Sky Sports News, Villa are not willing to up their bid any further and have given up on signing the Algerian international.
Benrahma provided a Championship-leading 14 assists last season, as well as netting ten goals himself.
The Villa Park club completed the signing of the Egyptian winger Trezeguet on Wednesday, with the former Kasimpasa man possibly being an alternative to Benrahma.
