Brighton & Hove Albion boss Sami Hyypia has insisted that his team is "on the right path", despite their opening-day defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.
The Seagulls were beaten 1-0 at home on Saturday as Giles Coke's first-half strike separated the sides.
While admitting that he is not happy with the result, Hyypia believes that his players showed some signs of encouragement on the pitch.
"We played okay and are on the right path: it's work, work, work," the former Liverpool defender is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "I liked the effort of everyone on the pitch.
"There are 46 games in the Championship and I'm not happy we lost as every match is very important."
Brighton begin their League Cup campaign on Tuesday, with a first-round tie at home to Cheltenham Town.
