Brighton & Hove Albion will reportedly bid £6m to sign Sheffield United defender Jack O'Connell.
The 24-year-old was an important figure for the Blades last season, after assisting four goals and appearing in all 46 of his side's Championship outings.
The centre-back's performances have allegedly alerted Brighton boss Chris Hughton to his services, with the Seagulls manager looking for backup in defence at the Amex Stadium.
The Sun reports that United, who recently lost midfielder David Brooks to Bournemouth, are unlikely to stop O'Connell from following suit with a move to the top flight.
The signing would be Brighton's third of the summer after the captures of Leon Balogun and Florin Andone.
