Burton Albion boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has admitted that he often "peeks" at the League Two table with the season reaching its closing stages.

However, the Dutchman has insisted that it is only important what his side do and not their rivals, as the Brewers battle it out for a place in the top three.

"There are still 12 matches to go. Do we look at the 12 matches? I peek at times. I do not want to look but as hard as it is you look at times," the former Chelsea striker told the Burton Mail.

"You have to be honest, but on the other hand I say to myself it's not important [what the others do]. It is important what we do.

"As hard as it is not look, it is about us. It is about us needing to turn up every game and be at it. If we do that we will have a really good chance."

Hasselbaink's side were recently on a 13-game unbeaten streak which pushed Burton to joint-top in League Two, alongside Shrewsbury Town on 64 points.
