Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has failed in his request to get Sunday's televised game against Burton Albion postponed.
Adam Armstrong and Bryn Morris are with England Under-19s and 20s respectively, and striker George Thomas is away with Wales Under-19s.
"We asked the question but the answer is no and we have to get on with it," Mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph. "Youth loans don't count, apparently.
"I have had a discussion with the FA because bottom line they are playing in our team. George Thomas has been off the bench enough times to qualify, Bryn Morris has played a couple of times off the bench and Adam Armstrong is a major player for us.
"I am just thankful that Sam Ricketts and Reda Johnson have not had call-ups from their standby status."
Football Association rules say that any club in the lower two divisions of the Football League that has three or more internationals on duty can request a postponement.
