Caen manager Patrice Garande has stated that his team will take the positives from their defeat to Lille on Friday night.
The underdogs were denied a point at home as they lost out to a penalty converted by Liverpool loanee Divock Origi in the 68th minute.
"It was not a good evening for us," the coach told reporters after the game.
"We lost the game and we also lost two of our players to injury [Emmanuel Imorou and Mathieu Duhamel]. So it was a tough night.
"I am especially disappointed for the players because they showed that they wanted to play. I asked them to make their presence felt and they did that. We are disappointed but there is a lot to build upon."
Caen currently find themselves seventh in the Ligue 1 table, on three points from two games.
