Ryan Bird has revealed that he aggravated an old shoulder injury during Cambridge United's 2-1 victory over Northampton Town on Friday night.
The striker came off the bench to score the winning goal at the Abbey Stadium, but in the aftermath, the 27-year-old dislocated his shoulder.
"Just after I scored, I slipped and my shoulder came out of its socket. It happened before about three or four years ago, but luckily it just popped back in. It's a bit sore, but I'll be all right," Bird told the Cambridge Evening News.
Bird, who joined Cambridge from Portsmouth in the summer, has scored three goals this season.
