Carlisle United manager Graham Kavanagh has told his players that they must "man up" if they are to avoid relegation from League One this season.
The Irishman was speaking after watching the Cumbrians lose 2-0 at Fleetwood Town in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Wednesday evening.
Kavanagh told BBC Radio Cumbria: "I gave the players the opportunity to impress and quite clearly they didn't. Five or six need to man up.
"We're three points above the relegation places and if we carry on playing like that we'll get relegated."
Carlisle have now scored just one goal in their last six away games in all competitions.
