Highly-rated defender Jonny Castro has signed a new long-term contract with Celta Vigo, bringing to a close speculation surrounding his future.
The 20-year-old, who came through the club's youth academy, made his first-team debut at the age of just 18 and has since been a key member of Celta's first XI.
A number of clubs were said to be preparing moves for the defender this winter, but the Spaniard has now penned a new deal until 2019.
"I'm really happy and grateful to the club for their confidence in me. I'm really proud," Castro told the club's official website.
"They're always with us. Club and fans, we're one and the same. We have to keep pushing ahead, because together we can achieve great things."
Castro has already played for Spain's Under-21 team and has been tipped to make the breakthrough into the senior set-up ahead of Euro 2016.
