Celta Vigo are reportedly confident of keeping Maxi Gomez this summer despite interest from Sevilla.
Gomez scored 17 La Liga goals during an impressive 2017-18 campaign at Celta, and is currently representing Uruguay at the 2018 World Cup.
Sevilla have been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old, but according to Estadio Deportivo, Celta are not prepared to sell the centre-forward for anything under his £44m release clause.
The report claims that Sevilla will therefore switch their attention elsewhere when it comes to bringing a new striker to the Estadio Ramon ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
Gomez was an unused substitute as Uruguay booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the 2018 World Cup with a 2-1 win over Portugal on Saturday night.
