How Celtic could line up against Hamilton Academical

Sports Mole looks at how Celtic could line up in Saturday's Scottish Premiership clash with Hamilton Academical.

Celtic will be looking to return to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership when they travel to 10th-placed Hamilton Academical on Saturday afternoon.

The Hoops have won five of their last six in Scotland's top flight but were held to a goalless draw at Livingston on November 11.

The Scottish champions are still top of the table on 26 points though, and have a game in hand over second-placed Hearts.

Hamilton have lost nine of their 13 Scottish Premiership matches this season, and they face a tough task to overcome a Celtic side that has conceded just six times in the league during the 2018-19 campaign.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Brendan Rodgers's side could line up for this one.

Out: Nir Bitton (knee), Eboue Kouassi (knee), Daniel Arzani (knee), Kristoffer Ajer (eye), Olivier Ntcham (hamstring), Cristian Gamboa (hamstring), Jozo Simunovic (ankle)
Doubtful: Scott Brown (calf), Leigh Griffiths (knee)

Nir Bitton has trained with the Celtic squad over the last week as he steps up his recovery from a long-term knee injury, but this weekend's match will come far too soon for the midfielder.

Kieran Tierney is fit for the Hoops, however, having recovered from the hamstring injury that forced him to pull out of the Scotland squad during the recent international break.

Leigh Griffiths has missed Celtic's last seven games with a knee injury but was all smiles in training during the week. The Scot is expected to be named on the bench though, with Odsonne Edouard - who has 12 goals in all competitions this season - continuing as the central striker.

The skipper Scott Brown has also been back in training during the international break, but having missed the team's last six matches he is unlikely to be thrown straight back into action on Hamilton's artificial surface.

James Forrest's heroics for Scotland during the international break mean that the 27-year-old will enter this match in high spirits, and he will continue in midfield alongside Ryan Christie, Tom Rogic, Callum McGregor and Scott Sinclair.

There will be an enforced change from the goalless draw with Livingston last time out, however, with Kristoffer Ajer's eye injury expected to see Filip Benkovic come into the back four.
