Stromsgodset head coach Ronny Deila has reportedly materialised as a leading contender to take charge of Celtic.
The Scottish champions have been in the market for a new manager ever since Neil Lennon took the decision to step down from the position last month.
The likes of Roy Keane, Steve Clarke and former Celtic centre-forward Henrik Larsson have been linked with the post, but Deila has now be installed among the frontrunners.
A source told PA: "Deila is one of the candidates the club is looking at. He is a young, highly sought-after and highly-thought of coach and has done well to win cup and league title in his six years in charge at Stromsgodset.
"The club have already signed one of his former players, Stefan Johansen, and the board think he could fit the bill for the club going forward."
No developments are expected until after Stromsgodset play Tromso in the Norwegian Cup this evening.
