Ronny Deila: 'Scott Brown, John Collins can work together'

New Celtic boss Ronny Deila insists that John Collins and Scott Brown can work together at Parkhead.

New Celtic manager Ronny Deila has said that John Collins and Scott Brown can work together at the Parkhead club.

The pair clashed in 2007 while at Hibernian, when Brown and a number of other players complained about Collins to chairman Rod Petrie.

However, Deila says that he has spoken to Brown and there won't be any problems.

Deila is quoted as saying in the Daily Record: "I've spoken with Scott, a telephone call because he's in Miami.

"Of course I asked him about John but he said it has been many years now and he's a professional, a little older and maybe brighter as well. It won't be a problem. I'm the manager and Scott and me will have the most important dialogue."

Celtic open their Scottish Premiership title defence with a visit to St Johnstone on August 13.
