Celtic manager Ronny Deila says that his side should have killed off Aberdeen sooner than they did following a nervy 2-1 win at Celtic Park.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila has praised his side following their 2-1 win over Aberdeen, but admitted that they should have killed off the opposition sooner.

The Hoops endured a nervy final half-hour as David Goodwillie pulled a goal back for the Dons, but held on to secure maximum points.

"We should kill the game much sooner than we did. For spells in the first half, it was a very high level," BBC Sport quotes Deila as saying.

"The fitness has to get better. I'm delighted that we won and I'm delighted that we played good football in the first half."

Jason Denayer and Kris Commons were on target for Celtic, who move up to fourth in the table.
