Celtic boss Ronny Deila has refused to rule out a move to bring Georgios Samaras back to Parkhead for the new season.
The Greek international striker left the club after four years earlier this summer, but has yet to agree terms elsewhere and the Norwegian manager sees him as an option.
"He is a player we know well," Deila is quoted as saying by The Herald. "He has good qualities, but it has to be right for everybody. We want to keep our players.
"That is the most important thing, but you never know in football. Hopefully when it comes to September 1 you have a better team than when you started."
Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is also said to be monitoring the Samaras situation and may move to reunite him with England goalkeeper Fraser Forster, who has completed his move to St Mary's.
