Saturday's League One encounters between Charlton and Rochdale and Scunthorpe United and Walsall have been postponed because of frozen playing surfaces.

Officials inspected the pitches at The Valley and Glanford Park and, with sections frozen and temperatures not forecast to rise above freezing all day, they decided to call the games off.

The pitches have been covered since the start of the week, but were mostly frozen as temperatures reached minus six in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Scunny and Walsall are separated by just a single goal in the table and lie 20th and 21st, with Walsall just outside the drop zone, while Charlton top the table with Rochdale 22nd.

The Charlton-Rochdale fixture has been rearranged for Sunday, February 11 while Scunthorpe-Walsall has yet to be rescheduled.

In League Two, there is only one game that has survived - Plymouth vs. Southend - after Swindon's meeting with Burton Albion, Northampton's game against Macclesfield, and Crawley's trip to Bradford also failed to overcome the conditions after failing pitch inspections this morning.
