Chris Powell was delighted after seeing his Charlton Athletic side beat Leicester City 2-1 and claim their first win in the Championship this season.
Charlton led at The Valley thanks to goals from Michael Morrison and Yann Kermorgant and although Danny Drinkwater pulled one back for the visitors to ensure a nervy finish for the hosts, they managed to hold on for the three points.
"I'm pleased for my group of players because they have been down and it's been a tough old start for us," London24 quotes the Charlton manager as saying.
"I kept saying there's no need to panic. We obviously had the abandoned game last week, so we had only played three games before today.
"It was just pleasing that we showed people we can play our stuff and also win. We're here to win and we have to get results."
Charlton visit Watford in the Championship on September 14.
