Championship side Charlton Athletic have confirmed that Ben Alnwick has agreed to join the club.
The 26-year-old had his contract with Barnsley terminated earlier this week, thus making him a free agent.
That alerted Charlton manager Chris Powell, who offered the former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper a 12-month deal, which he has since accepted.
Alnwick will provide competition to Ben Hamer and Nick Pope following the recent departure of David Button to Brentford.
