Former Liverpool and Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant has joined Charlton Athletic on trial in a bid to secure a contract with the Championship side.
The 32-year-old spent the second half of last season with Wigan Athletic, but the Latics were unable to sign him on a longer-term deal following their relegation to League One.
According to South London Press, Pennant has spent the week training with the Addicks, who are thought to be in the market for an additional winger.
Pennant scored three goals in 13 appearances for Wigan last season.
