Former Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Roger Johnson has joined Charlton Athletic until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old left Wolves by mutual consent on Monday following a struggle for first-team action at Molineux.
Johnson was loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday and West Ham United during his time in the Midlands.
"I'm an old-fashioned centre-half," he told Charlton's official website. "I like a tackle, I like to head the ball and then give to people who can play.
"I'll be organising, making sure we don't concede and then hopefully the forward players can do their job. Hopefully we can tighten things up and I'm looking forward to being involved."
Johnson could make his Charlton debut on Saturday when they travel to promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough in the Championship.
