Champions Chelsea Women will wrap up another successful Women's Super League campaign when they play host to Liverpool Women in Saturday's fixture.

The Blues are looking to finish the WSL campaign with an unbeaten record, while the Reds are out to secure a top-half finish.

Match preview

Chelsea's hopes of a historic quadruple were quashed by last month's 8-1 aggregate defeat to Barcelona in the Women's Champions League semi-finals.

However, they could still complete a treble in Sonia Bompastor's first season in charge, having already clinched the Women's League Cup and Women's Super League title.

They beat Man City 2-1 in March's final to lift the League Cup, while they sealed a sixth consecutive league title with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United earlier this month.

The Blues followed their title-clinching win with another 1-0 victory in last Sunday's away clash against Tottenham Hotspur, courtesy of Catarina Macario's first-half penalty.

Chelsea will undoubtedly have one eye on the Women's FA Cup final against Manchester United on May 18, but first, they will attempt to achieve an invincible WSL campaign, having won 18 and drawn three of their 21 league games this term.

The Blues will take confidence from the fact that they have already beaten Liverpool on two occasions this season, recording a 3-0 win in November's reverse league fixture, before claiming a 2-1 victory in last month's FA Cup semi-final.

Liverpool will fall short of last season's fourth-placed finish, but they are in a strong position to end the campaign in the top half of the WSL table.

The Reds are sitting in sixth place in the table after winning seven, drawing four and losing 10 of their 21 league games this term, leaving them two points clear of the bottom half of the standings.

While they will be content with their current position, the Reds will be disappointed with their recent run of form, having won just one of their previous five league matches (D1, L3).

Interim boss Amber Whiteley saw her side fall to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to rivals Everton in last Sunday's Merseyside derby at Anfield, extending the club's winless home run to three WSL games.

The Reds can at least take confidence from the fact that they have won two of their previous three top-flight away matches, including a 2-1 victory in their most recent road trip against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Liverpool will travel to Stamford Bridge with hopes of avenging last month's FA Cup semi-final defeat, although claiming maximum points will be easier said than done, especially as they have not won a WSL away game against Chelsea since August 2011.

Team News

Chelsea are unable to call upon Femke Liefting, Zecira Musovic, Kadiesha Buchanan, Sophie Ingle, Lauren James and Sam Kerr.

The club's medical staff will have to assess Mayra Ramirez's fitness after the striker sat out the win over Tottenham with a knee injury.

After making wholesale changes last weekend, Bompastor could recall Millie Bright, Naomi Girma, Sandy Baltimore, Keira Walsh, Wieke Kaptein and Aggie Beever-Jones.

As for the visitors, they remain without the midfield duo of Sofie Lundgaard and Zara Shaw, who are both sidelined with long-term knee injuries.

Leanne Kiernan has missed the last two matches with a knock, and the Republic of Ireland international remains a doubt for the final game of the season.

Chelsea loanees Julia Bartel and Alejandra Bernabe are ineligible to face their parent club, although the latter was already ruled out of the contest due to injury.
