Diego Costa will reportedly be left out of Vicente del Bosque's next Spain squad, placing his involvement at Euro 2016 this summer in severe doubt.
On Monday, the Chelsea striker was charged with improper conduct by the Football Association following his red card against Everton in the FA Cup at the weekend.
It was thought that Costa would face a biting charge after a clash with Toffees midfielder Gareth Barry, but both denied the act and the 27-year-old must instead explain an alleged gesture he made towards Everton fans at the weekend.
According to Cadena Cope, Del Bosque has become increasingly frustrated with the forward's antics this season and will leave him out of the La Roja squad for the friendlies against Italy and Romania later this month.
Costa, who switched his international allegiance from Brazil to Spain in 2014, has only scored once in 10 appearances for La Roja.
