Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League showdown with Sheffield United.

Chelsea face a second successive promoted team after beating Norwich City 3-2 to register their first win of the season last time out.

Frank Lampard will no doubt have relished the taste of his first victory as a Premier League manager and will hope to make it two wins in a row against Sheffield United.

The Blades were beaten 2-1 by Leicester City last time out but drew their first league game against Bournemouth and beat Crystal Palace in their second fixture.

Chris Wilder's side actually sit above Chelsea in ninth on goal difference in the fledgling table and will hope to produce a shock at Stamford Bridge.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for Lampard's side as they host the Blades.

N'Golo Kante

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: August 31 (vs. Sheffield United)

The niggling ankle injury Kante has been dealing with since the start of the season caused him too much pain to play against Norwich and it remains to be seen if he recovers in time to feature at Stamford Bridge this weekend.

Antonio Rudiger

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Match fitness
Possible return date: August 31 (vs. Sheffield United)

Rudiger has fully recovered from a knee injury and is now building up match fitness by playing with the Under-23s. The defender could be in contention to start against the Blades.

Mason Mount

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: August 31 (vs. Sheffield United)

Mount is being assessed after receiving a kick to the calf in the Blues' win over Norwich but Lampard is optimistic the young midfielder will recover in time for the game against Sheffield United.

Pedro

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Pedro injured his hamstring in the warm-up before playing Norwich and has been ruled out for the visit of the newly-promoted outfit. Scans will reveal the extent of the damage.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: September 14 (vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers)

Loftus-Cheek is unlikely to even return to training until October following a ruptured Achilles tendon and will hope to build his fitness back up in time to be involved in a match at some point in November.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: September 14 (vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers)

The winger is back in training and has impressed so far, although Lampard is keen to ease the youngster back into the first-team fold after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Reece James

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: September 14 (vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers)

The right-back is working on his rehabilitation but will not be involved in a Blues squad until at least after the international break due to a serious ankle injury.

Marco van Ginkel

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Van Ginkel is still recovering following the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. No timescale for his return has been provided as yet.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Chelsea have no suspended players for this match.
