Southampton defender Toby Alderweireld admits that his side will be taking on some "fantastic players" when they face Chelsea in the Premier League.

Toby Alderweireld has admitted that Southampton will be facing some "fantastic players" when they take on Chelsea in the Premier League this afternoon.

The teams played to a 1-1 draw when they met at St Mary's Stadium earlier in the season, but Ronald Koeman's side have won just once in their last four league outings ahead of their trip to Stamford Bridge.

The on-loan defender told the club's website: "It has to give us confidence. We have to try and play our football and if we play as we can then we can get a result.

"We know it's going to be difficult because they have fantastic players. We have to be at our best to get some points there, and we'll see.

"They will want to respond and a get a result that will help them for the title, but it's up to us to make it difficult for them on Sunday. We have a lot of confidence now in our team that we can get some points there."

Chelsea head into the match just days after their exit from the Champions League at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.
