Chelsea 'disappointed with Thomas Tuchel over Anthony Barry comments'

Chelsea are reportedly disappointed with former boss Thomas Tuchel after he revealed that he wanted to bring the Blues coach to Bayern Munich.

Chelsea have allegedly been left disappointed with the public comments of former boss Thomas Tuchel, who wants to add Anthony Barry to his staff at Bayern Munich.

Barry has been on the coaching team at Chelsea since 2020, initially working under Frank Lampard and continuing under Tuchel and Graham Potter.

As well as holding positions with Belgium and Portugal during his stay at Stamford Bridge, the 36-year-old's stock has risen to such an extent that he has been considered for managerial roles in the EFL this season.

However, Barry has remained with the Premier League giants, something which seemed to be for the foreseeable future until Tuchel returned to the sport last week.

The German, who was sacked by Chelsea in September, was appointed as the new head coach of Bayern, and he was publicly unveiled at a press conference soon afterwards.

When speaking to the press, Tuchel said: "We're hoping to add Anthony Barry, who is currently at Chelsea."

According to The Telegraph, the powers-that-be at Chelsea have been left annoyed with the public acknowledgment that Barry is a target.

The report says that Bayern have since made an official approach to try to secure the services of Barry as soon as possible, the Bundesliga title-chasers having already appointed Tuchel's usual right-hand men Zsolt Low and Arno Michels who were no longer associated with Chelsea.

Barry is allegedly open to making the switch to the Allianz Arena to link up with a head coach who won the Champions League during his time in England.

Bayern are said to have held back in offering a compensation fee for Barry, although the assumption is that will soon arrive if negotiations proceed.

Since Potter replaced Tuchel at Chelsea, the West Londoners have made widespread alterations to their coaching staff and recruitment team.

Nevertheless, Barry's impact behind the scenes meant that he was a welcome mainstay at the club, the new owners aware of his growing reputation in the sport. body check tags ::
