Chelsea will announce their new manager before they begin their pre-season tour of America, chairman Bruce Buck has said.
Current interim manager Roberto Di Matteo is favourite for the post after guiding the Blues to FA Cup and most recently Champions League glory last night.
Speaking of Di Matteo, Buck told Sky Sports News: "He's done an amazing job, he's enabled these players to get back their confidence that they used to have and need to perform."
He added: "We've put [the appointment] aside for the last 5-8 weeks, now in the next few weeks we have to sit down, figure it out and do what's best for Chelsea.
"Roberto is certainly in the mix and he's done a great job for us and he has to have serious consideration."
Buck added that the club are hoping to secure the signature of the new boss "sooner rather than later" and when asked if it would be before the club's pre-season tour on July 18, he replied: "Surely."
