Chelsea youngster Levi Colwill is reportedly pushing for a first-team opportunity during the 2022-23 campaign.
During the summer, Chelsea allowed the 18-year-old to link up with Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan deal, the expectation being that the teenager would be given a sufficient amount of senior action.
However, the centre-back has far exceeded that, making a total of 20 starts in the Championship and earning a call-up to the England Under-21s squad.
According to Goal, Colwill's progression has not gone unnoticed by key figures at Stamford Bridge as they already begin to plan for next season.
While the possibility remains that Colwill will go back out on loan until 2023, several Chelsea officials are comparing his breakout campaign to Reece James's at Wigan Athletic during 2018-19.
Colwill penned a long-term contract at the West Londoners before departing for the John Smith's Stadium, leaving Chelsea under no pressure to fast-track him into the first-team squad.
