Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has claimed that Danny Drinkwater has had an "unlucky" campaign as reports suggest that the midfielder is contemplating his future at Stamford Bridge.
Last summer, Chelsea paid £35m to sign Drinkwater from Leicester City but the England international has made just five starts and seven substitute appearances for the Blues in the Premier League this season.
Drinkwater has not featured since the defeat to Manchester City at the start of March, but Conte insists that he still has 'trust' in the player.
At a press conference, the 48-year-old told reporters: "I think he's had an unlucky season. He started the season with a problem in his calf and then he continued to have problems.
"It's not a lucky season but we are talking about a good midfielder, a good player. I trust him."
West Ham United are allegedly considering an approach for the 28-year-old.
