Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has insisted that he is not surprised by Alvaro Morata's form during the early part of his Blues career.
Since signing from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window, Morata has contributed seven goals and two assists in just seven matches, including a hat-trick in last weekend's 4-0 win away at Stoke City.
However, Conte has suggested that he expected such a return from the Spanish international, despite the attacker spending the majority of last season on the bench.
The 48-year-old told reporters: "I am not surprised because I know Alvaro very well. For sure to arrive and go into this league is not simple.
"You need a bit of time to adapt yourself. I am pleased for him. He is scoring and is totally involved in our style of football. I am very happy. It is the first time to play number nine regularly."
Morata is likely to start when Chelsea host Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
