Roberto Di Matteo: "We haven't achieved anything"

Roberto Di Matteo feels that only winning a trophy and finishing in the top four would result in Chelsea's season being considered successful.

Chelsea interim manager Roberto Di Matteo has said that the club "haven't achieved anything" this season despite their steady turnaround during his tenure.

The Blues have progressed to the semi-finals of both the Champions League and FA Cup under the Italian, who took over from sacked boss Andre Villas-Boas in March.

However, Di Matteo feels that his side must win one of those trophies and secure a top-four finish if their season is to be deemed a success.

"I'm working my socks off to help this team become successful, but so far we have not proved anything and we have not achieved anything," said Di Matteo.

"The players have done extremely well to turn things around but it will only be a successful season if we finish in the top four and win a trophy.

"We have to ensure we finish well to guarantee Champions League football for next season. That's the big target."

Chelsea face Barcelona in the Champions League last four, while they meet London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley on April 15.
