Didier Drogba will not return to Chelsea as part of the coaching setup after deciding to stay as a player with MLS side Montreal Impact.
Reports had suggested that Blues owner Roman Abramovich was attempting to lure the Ivorian back to London in the wake of Jose Mourinho's departure, despite him having one year remaining on his contract with the Canadian outfit.
In a tweet on Sunday, the 37-year-old said: "On way to Qatar to do some preparation work for pre-season."
Drogba joined the Impact from Chelsea last July and became the side's top scorer with 11 goals in 11 appearances in the second half of the campaign.
