Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes that Frank Lampard will be afforded a good reception when his Manchester City side host the Blues on Sunday.
The former England international left Stamford Bridge in the summer after 13 years at the club, and Hasselbaink thinks that the club's all-time top scorer will be cheered by the away support at the Etihad.
He told the Daily Mail: "I don't think it changes a lot for the Chelsea fans. If Frank had been offered a new contract, I think he would have stayed.
"A lot of fans understand that and I was treated very well when I played against them. It was refreshing, and I know City are a rival for the [Premier League] title.
"It was different for me because I was playing for Middlesbrough and Charlton but I think he'll get a good reception."
Chelsea are currently top of the Premier League.
