New Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard has admitted that conversations with the club's owner Roman Abramovich helped sway his decision to move to Stamford Bridge.
The Champions League winners announced yesterday that they had completed a move for the 21-year-old from Lille, with the transfer reportedly worth up to £32m.
"I spoke with Abramovich, he is very simple and loves football," said Hazard. "We were on the same wavelength, he wants to confirm Chelsea's position at the top. Chelsea have made a good investment for me but I did not put any pressure on them."
The highly-praised prospect also claimed that he was close to joining Manchester United but admitted that he would have more chance to play first-team football at Chelsea.
