Chelsea defender David Luiz has acknowledged that Chelsea 'had to suffer' before beating Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The Blues failed to register a single shot on goal until N'Golo Kante's opener just before half time, and the strike acted as the catalyst in a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.
Luiz - who netted Chelsea's second - was full of praise for his side's performance, claiming that the West Londoners had defeated 'the best team in Europe' to leave Man City behind Liverpool in the standings.
The Brazilian told BT Sport: "It was a great game. They have great players and are playing very well. We had to suffer but then we took our chance to score.
"It went well, our plan. We have had some bad results but tried to improve. All the team did great. We keep fighting but keep our feet on the ground."
Chelsea now sit seven points adrift of City in the top-flight table.
