Jose Mourinho questions referee Chris Foy's decision to send him to the stands during Chelsea's 1-0 loss against Aston Villa.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he is unsure exactly why he was sent to the stands in his side's 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Fabian Delph's goal after 82 minutes was enough to secure victory for the Villans and leave the Blues looking over their shoulders at the top of the Premier League table.

To compound Chelsea's miserable afternoon, Ramires was shown a red card and so was Willian, which left Mourinho questioning referee Chris Foy.

"I don't know why I was sent off. I asked, but the referee refused to speak to me," the 51-year-old told BBC Radio 5Live. "Maybe Mr Foy thought I was aggressive, I don't know. There are no statues in a football match, so everyone should have been sent off.

"We must be very, very unlucky to have another refereeing performance like this one. This was not about one mistake a referee can make, a penalty or not giving a penalty, but this is about a 94 minute performance.

"I ask Mr Foy to speak for just five seconds but he said no, and I must accept that. I prefer not to comment on it because I will be punished and it is not worth it. We have to put it behind us and life goes on."

The Blues' lead at the top of the table has been cut to just six points following Manchester City's earlier victory over Hull City.
