Jose Mourinho has insisted that Andre Schurrle's future is at Chelsea after the German helped the team to a 3-1 victory over Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League.
Schurrle, who scored the second against Sporting at Stamford Bridge, has been linked with moves away from the club in recent months due to his lack of starts in the Premier League, but Mourinho claims that the 24-year-old has a role to play in his squad.
"He is in my plans. We had a problem when he went to the national team the last time and he came back very, very ill and was in trouble for quite a long time," the Chelsea boss told reporters.
"Today he had 75 minutes to improve his form, he is a player who needs to adapt better to the Premier League but is also a player that in three shots usually scores a goal. That's an important quality."
Schurrle has made over 50 appearances for Chelsea since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in June 2013.
