Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that his side are "not in the title race" following their 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League this afternoon.
The Blues were reduced to nine men as they fell to the defeat, leaving themselves six points clear at the top of the table having played three games more than second-placed Manchester City.
"We are not in the title race. We are in a match race. We play every match, we try to win, we think we can win, we give everything to win, sometimes you do, sometimes you don't, but that's our race," Mourinho told reporters.
Chelsea face a midweek Champions League match against Galatasaray before returning to domestic action against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge next Saturday.
