Real Madrid are reportedly lining up a summer bid for Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, should they miss out on David de Gea.
The Spanish side are said to be looking for a long-term replacement to Iker Casillas, who has made a number of high-profile errors over the past 18 months.
Manchester United stopper De Gea has been heavily linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, although the player's agent has recently ruled out a transfer from Old Trafford.
Belgian international Courtois has established himself as Chelsea's first-choice stopper this season after spending the past three years on loan at Atletico Madrid.
However, it is thought that Real are looking at the possibility of bringing him back to Spain.
They will attempt to persuade Chelsea to do business by offering defender Raphael Varane as part of the deal, according to the Daily Star.
Courtois joined Chelsea from Genk in 2011.
