Harry Redknapp is adamant that Frank Lampard should be given a good reception by Chelsea fans when he returns to Stamford Bridge for the first time as a Manchester City player.
The 36-year-old spent 13 seasons with the Blues, becoming their all-time leading goal scorer with 211 goals along with winning the Premier League three times, as well as four FA Cups and the Champions League.
Redknapp has insisted that Lampard has to be given a positive reception by the Chelsea supporters for his years of quality service at the club.
"Surely he should get a good reception shouldn't he?" Redknapp told reporters.
"He has to be one of the all-time great Chelsea players. They've had some fantastic players over the years and he's one of the all-time greats."
Lampard scored against Jose Mourinho's men in the 1-1 draw between the two sides at the Etihad Stadium this season.
