Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku held positive talks with manager Thomas Tuchel on Monday, according to a report.
The Belgium international recently admitted in an interview that he was unhappy with life at Stamford Bridge and was pining for a return to Inter Milan in the future.
Lukaku was dropped from the squad to face Liverpool as a result and told former Everton teammate Tim Howard that he was set for talks with Tuchel to address the situation on Monday.
According to the Daily Mail, Lukaku showed remorse for his comments, and there is a chance that the ex-Inter man will be back in the squad for Wednesday's EFL Cup semi-final first leg with Tottenham Hotspur.
The report adds that some players at Chelsea believe that Lukaku should be handed a formal punishment for the interview, and Roman Abramovich would support Tuchel in taking such action.
Lukaku was linked with an immediate exit from Stamford Bridge in the wake of his comments but is thought to be unlikely to leave the club in the calendar year. body check tags ::
