Eden Hazard has sought permission from Maurizio Sarri to report late for Chelsea duty, the new Blues manager has revealed.
The playmaker, who starred at the 2018 World Cup as Belgium finished third, has had an extended break following his exploits in Russia.
Sarri suggested on Saturday that Hazard will not play any part in Chelsea's Community Shield meeting with Manchester City the following day.
The Italian also stressed that no conversation took place between the two regarding the 27-year-old's future, amid reported interest from the likes of Real Madrid.
"We didn't talk about this [Hazard's future]," Sarri told reporters.
"We talked only about 'can I arrive on Monday instead of Sunday?' At this moment there is no problem for Hazard."
Hazard, who has two years left on his current deal, has reportedly been offered an extension at Stamford Bridge.
