Maurizio Sarri has confessed that Chelsea "have to improve very quickly" on the basis of their performance in Monday's friendly against Perth Glory.
The Blues claimed a 1-0 victory at the Optus Stadium in their first pre-season outing thanks to an early strike from Spanish forward Pedro.
Recently-appointed manager Sarri felt that Chelsea lost their way as the match went on, however, and the former Napoli boss was seemingly concerned by the lack of cohesion in the side for his maiden match in charge.
"We were good in the first half, not so much in the second half," he told reporters Down Under. "We lost a lot between the defenders and the midfielders. We have to improve very quickly. The result is not a mirror of the game but it is more important at this moment for the performance."
Summer signing Jorginho made his debut in Perth, while the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Alvaro Morata, David Luiz, Marcos Alonso, Ross Barkley and goalscorer Pedro were also used.
