Swansea City first-team coach Alan Curtis insists that the club did not instruct the ball boys to delay play.

Swansea City first-team coach Alan Curtis has insisted that the Welsh club did not instruct the club's ball boys to purposefully delay play.

Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard was sent off during the Blues' goalless draw with the Swans in the second leg of the League Cup semi-final last night for appearing to kick a ball boy, who laid down on the ball after it went out of play.

Some have suggested that the Swans ball boys were told to take their time giving the ball back during the clash due to the Welsh side's 2-0 advantage from the first leg.

When asked by BBC Radio Wales if Swansea employed these delaying tactics, Curtis said: "No, absolutely not. We're not as devious as that.

"You can understand the reaction of the Chelsea player wanting to get the ball back into play as quickly as possible, but you know the bottom line, you can't kick out."

The 17-year-old ball boy has decided against pressing criminal charges against Hazard for the incident.
