Chelsea skipper John Terry has revealed that watching other teams lift the Premier League title over the past five years has made their trophy win extra sweet this season.
The Blues won the top-flight crown for the first time since the 2009-10 campaign as they led from the front to finish the season eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
Terry told BBC Sport: "It has been five years since we won the title. It has been a long time and hurts when you see other teams lift it.
"It is an unbelievable day - the whole squad have been top class from day one - but a sad one with Didier [Drogba] leaving today."
Chelsea recorded a 3-1 victory over Sunderland on the final day in Drogba's last game for the club.
