Chelsea captain John Terry has admitted that it felt "strange" lining up against his former teammate Frank Lampard in Sunday's match against Manchester City.
The midfielder, who joined City on a six-month loan from MLS side New York City in the summer, scored the equaliser in yesterday's 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium.
The former England international appeared emotional at the final whistle when he went over to the selection of travelling Chelsea fans to thank them for giving him a rapturous applause.
After the match, Terry wrote on Instagram: "It felt strange playing against Lamps and seeing him in a Man City shirt,Unbelievable reception the Chelsea fans gave to a true Legend today that has Chelsea in is heart forever, I really hope Lamps gets the opportunity to receive that reception at the Bridge one day."
Lampard, who didn't celebrate when he scored, left Chelsea after a 13-year spell at Stamford Bridge at the end of last season.
