Chelsea captain John Terry will reportedly be offered the chance to be involved with Gareth Southgate's England team on a "part-time basis".
The 36-year-old, whose deal with the Blues expires at the end of the season, has already begun his coaching badges as he eyes a future career in management.
According to The Sun, Terry will be asked to join the Three Lions in a "mentoring" capacity as part of Southgate's plans to involve recently-retired England players in developing the careers of younger talent.
Southgate is also believed to have approached Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard with a similar deal, which will give them a fast-track route to gaining their UEFA Pro Licences.
Terry called time on his England career in 2012 after being suspended by the FA over his alleged racial abuse of Anton Ferdinand.
