Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is hoping that his display in the 2-0 win over Swindon Town on Tuesday will help convince Jose Mourinho that he deserves more opportunities in the first team.
Torres scored the opening and set up Ramires for the second as the West London outfit eased into the fourth round of the League Cup.
Samuel Eto'o has been favoured to the Spanish international but Torres believes that he has showed to be included in the starting line up against Tottenham on Saturday.
He told Sky Sports News: "Hopefully I will have more opportunities to play in the Premier League. The season is long and we have time to play important games.
"We will all be involved. We are in the manager's plans. We have 25 players squad in the squad and it is difficult to play in this great team."
